A Hotel in Udaipur With Free Parking and a Free Driver Dormitory
Park outside for the whole stay, and your driver sleeps free with his own toilet and bathroom
Where you park, and where your driver sleeps
If you are driving to Udaipur, two questions decide where you book before the room even comes into it: where the car goes, and where your driver sleeps. Here are both answers.
Parking is free. It is outside parking, alongside the property, and there is no charge for it — not for a night, not for a week, not for the whole of your stay.
Your driver stays free too. Drivers stay in a dormitory with a separate toilet and bathroom, at no charge, for the whole of your stay. Driver meals are not included — that is the one part of it you pay for, and we would rather you knew that here than at the desk. Tell us when you book that a driver is travelling with you, and for how many nights.
Parking: free, outside, for the whole stay
The parking is outside, alongside the property. There is no charge for it, and that does not change with the length of your stay: one night or a week, it costs nothing. You do not need to look for a paid lot anywhere in the city.
It matters most on the days you are not using the car. Fateh Sagar Lake is 200 m away on foot, so on a stay of two or three nights you may well leave the car where it is for much of the time and take a short ride into the old town instead.
We are on the Fateh Sagar side of Udaipur rather than inside the old town. City Palace is 1.5 km from here, and the trade between staying on this side and staying in the old town is set out on our hotels near City Palace page.
The driver dormitory, exactly as it is
Drivers stay in a dormitory with a separate toilet and bathroom. It is free of charge, and it is free for the whole of your stay, not just the first night. It is a dormitory, and we call it that on every page, because that is what it is.
The one thing not included is your driver’s meals. We would rather put that in writing now than have it come up at the desk on the last morning. Plan for it the same way you would on the road.
All we ask is that you tell us when you book that a driver is travelling with you, and for how many nights. The WhatsApp button on this page opens a message with that line already in it.
On the days you go out on foot or by auto, your driver gets a proper rest as well: he has the dormitory, with its own toilet and bathroom, to go back to, and there is nothing extra on your bill for it.
Driving in from Gujarat
If you are driving in from Gujarat and coming from Ahmedabad to Udaipur, that page covers the road and what to expect on arrival. If you are making the longer journey from Surat to Udaipur, that one covers arriving late.
Reception is staffed 24 hours, so whatever time you pull in there is someone at the desk. Check-in is 12:00 PM and check-out is 10:00 AM. The full set of arrival routes, with a map and a route planner, is on how to reach Udaipur.
Once the car is parked
Fateh Sagar Lake is 200 m from the front door, so the first thing you do after a long drive does not need the car. The lake view is from our rooftop, which is open to guests staying with us; the rooms themselves do not look at the lake. More on that is on our hotel near Fateh Sagar Lake page.

Food for the family
The kitchen is 100% pure vegetarian and there is no alcohol anywhere on the property. What that means for a family stay is on our pure veg hotel page. Proper Jain food — no onion, no garlic, no root vegetables — is available on request. The detail is on the Jain food page.
The restaurant runs 7:00 AM - 10:30 PM, with dinner from 6:00 PM. Room service runs round the clock, though the full menu stops at 10:30 PM — worth knowing if you expect to arrive late after a day on the road.
Meals for guests are priced per person before GST: breakfast ₹250, lunch ₹400 and dinner ₹400. The indoor dining hall seats 25 guests.
