Hotel Rani Palace has a 3,000 square foot rooftop that can be booked as a party hall for 100 to 150 guests. It is a terrace overlooking Lake Fateh Sagar, and when you book it you get the whole terrace to yourself.
We would rather publish the number than leave you to guess at it. Ours is 3,000 sq ft and comfortably seats 100 to 150. If your function is larger than that, we are honestly not the right venue and we would rather tell you now than after you have visited.
The layout is the next thing to settle. A seated dinner with round tables and a clear walkway sits at the lower end of that range. A standing reception, or seating along the edges with the middle kept clear for a ceremony or for music, sits at the upper end. Tell us which of those your function is and we will tell you honestly whether the terrace suits it.
And if your function is smaller than that, we would rather move you than sell you a terrace you will rattle around in. The main dining hall seats 80 and the covered dining terrace takes 30 to 40 — both are on the restaurant page.
What a hotel with a banquet hall gives you
Because the hall is a hotel rooftop, everything a function needs is already in the building. The kitchen is on site, so food is served hot rather than trucked in. There are 19 rooms if guests are travelling in. There is free outside parking, and a lift so that elderly relatives and anyone carrying decorations do not have to take the stairs. Fateh Sagar Lake is a five-minute walk if guests want to step out before or after.
Here the front desk, the kitchen and the terrace are one team, so there is a single phone number when something needs changing on the day, and no separate caterer to coordinate.
No alcohol is served anywhere on the property, and the kitchen is entirely vegetarian. If that is what your guest list requires, it is not something you have to arrange with us in advance — it is simply how the hotel runs.
Pure vegetarian kitchen
Our kitchen is 100% pure vegetarian. We serve Indian, Rajasthani, Chinese and Continental dishes, and the same kitchen that serves the hotel restaurant caters events on the rooftop. For families and gatherings that require a strictly vegetarian kitchen, this is not an accommodation we make on request — it is the only way we cook.

Beyond those, the rooftop is available for private parties and family functions — engagements and roka ceremonies, mehendi and haldi, baby showers, naming ceremonies, retirement and farewell dinners. Getting here & parking
Hotel Rani Palace is 200 metres from Fateh Sagar Lake — a five-minute walk. City Palace is 1.5 km away and Udaipur railway station is 4 km. There is free outside parking for guests, and a lift to the upper floors, so older family members and anyone carrying decorations or equipment do not have to manage the stairs.
What to tell us when you enquire
- The date, and whether it is fixed or you have a couple of options.
- The occasion — a seated dinner and a ceremony are laid out very differently.
- Approximate guest count. A rough number is enough at this stage.
- Timing — afternoon or evening, and roughly how long you expect the function to run.
- Decoration. We can arrange it in-house, or you can bring your own decorator to set up on the terrace — both are fine, so just tell us which you would prefer.
