An anniversary can be two people and a quiet table, or it can be a 25th with every relative in Rajasthan invited. We can do both. For a dinner for two, we set a private table on the rooftop looking out over Lake Fateh Sagar. For a full celebration, the entire 3,000 sq ft terrace can be booked privately for 100 to 150 guests.
Those two are genuinely different evenings and it is worth deciding which one you want before you start ringing venues. They need different things from a venue — one needs a table set apart, the other needs the floor area and the private hire — which is why this page describes them side by side.
Dinner for two
A table set apart on the terrace, the lake 200 metres in front of you, and the rest of the terrace kept at a distance. It is a simple thing to arrange; one message with the date and the time is enough.

A family celebration
A silver or golden anniversary is often a three-generation gathering with a couple of hours in the middle where everyone wants to say something. At 3,000 square feet the terrace can be laid out around the couple rather than in rows, so the whole gathering faces them instead of only the tables at the front.
The other practical detail is the lift. If part of your guest list should not be climbing stairs, a rooftop needs one. Ours has one.

Pure vegetarian kitchen
Our kitchen is 100% pure vegetarian. We serve Indian, Rajasthani, Chinese and Continental dishes, and the same kitchen that serves the hotel restaurant caters events on the rooftop. For families and gatherings that require a strictly vegetarian kitchen, this is not an accommodation we make on request — it is the only way we cook.
Staying over
Guests travelling in for your event can stay at the hotel. We have 19 rooms, all air-conditioned, with free WiFi and free outside parking.

Hotel Rani Palace is 200 metres from Fateh Sagar Lake — a five-minute walk. City Palace is 1.5 km away and Udaipur railway station is 4 km. There is free outside parking for guests, and a lift to the upper floors, so older family members and anyone carrying decorations or equipment do not have to manage the stairs.
Decoration and cake
Decoration can go either way. We can arrange it in-house, which is the simpler route for a dinner for two, or you can bring your own decorator for a larger celebration and have them set up on the terrace beforehand. Tell us which you would like and roughly when your decorator needs access, and we will hold the space.
Outside cake is welcome. If there is a particular cake you want for the evening, bring it rather than settling for the one we could supply.
