A kitty party needs three things: somewhere pleasant to sit, food that everyone in the group can eat, and enough room that the conversation is not competing with the next table. Our rooftop gives you all three. It is 3,000 square feet overlooking Lake Fateh Sagar, and it can be booked privately — so if your group wants the terrace to itself, that is possible, right up to 100–150 guests.
A smaller group is equally welcome. For twelve or fifteen we set a long table on the terrace with the lake in front of you, and the rest of the terrace stays clear. Nobody is squeezed into a corner and nobody is rattling around in a hall built for two hundred.
Pure vegetarian kitchen
If anyone in your group keeps a strictly vegetarian kitchen at home, there is nothing to arrange here and nothing to ask about in advance. There is no non-vegetarian food in the building and no alcohol served anywhere on the property. The question is removed rather than answered.
Our kitchen is 100% pure vegetarian. We serve Indian, Rajasthani, Chinese and Continental dishes, and the same kitchen that serves the hotel restaurant caters events on the rooftop. For families and gatherings that require a strictly vegetarian kitchen, this is not an accommodation we make on request — it is the only way we cook.
Afternoon or evening
An afternoon booking gets the quieter half of the day on the terrace, with room to spread out and the lake in front of you rather than a wall. If your group plays games or runs a proper agenda, that is the slot with the most space for it.
Evening is the other option, and it is a different room entirely. The light over Lake Fateh Sagar in the half hour before sunset is the single best thing about this building, and it is free.

Getting here & parking
Hotel Rani Palace is 200 metres from Fateh Sagar Lake — a five-minute walk. City Palace is 1.5 km away and Udaipur railway station is 4 km. There is free outside parking for guests, and a lift to the upper floors, so older family members and anyone carrying decorations or equipment do not have to manage the stairs.
