Saheliyon Ki Bari is 3 km away; Fateh Sagar Lake is 200 m
3 km. We are not going to dress that up. If what you want is a hotel you can walk out of and be at the garden gate in a few minutes, we are not it, and a property on the road immediately outside it will serve you better.
What we are near is the lake. Fateh Sagar is 200 m from the front door — a five-minute walk — and that is the only distance on this site we describe as a walk. Everything else, including the garden, is a ride.
Both places sit on the same side of Udaipur, north and west of the old town, so a morning that takes in the garden and then the lake is a sensible morning rather than a trek across the city. That is the honest version of the argument for booking here, and it is a good one — it is just not the one that starts with the word “steps”.

The rest of this side of the city
Sukhadia Circle, Gulab Bagh and Shilpgram are all on this side of Udaipur too, in the same general direction as the garden rather than down in the old town. We have deliberately not put a figure next to any of them: the owner has confirmed road distances for eight places and those three are not among them, so naming them is as far as we will go. The old-city cluster is a different matter, and the numbers there surprise people: City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Bagore Ki Haveli are each 1.5 km from us — closer than the garden. A morning that works from here
Take the garden first. It is at its best early, before the day heats up and before the tour groups reach it, and an auto from the door gets you there without ceremony. Do not ask us what time the fountains run or what the ticket costs — those are not our facts, they change, and we are not going to print them and let them go stale on a page nobody remembers to update. Reception will tell you what it is on the day.
Then come back and do the lake on foot. That is the sequence that actually uses where we are: the ride out, the ride back, and then a five-minute walk to the water, which means the second half of the morning costs nothing and needs no arrangement. The promenade at that hour is the calmest place in the city.
The rest of the day is up to you. Room service runs 24 hours if you would rather eat upstairs after a long morning, and the rooftop is open daily to guests staying with us — that is where you see the water from, and it is not from any of the bedrooms.

The rooms, and what is included
Nineteen rooms, every one air-conditioned, every one with a king bed across all three categories. Standard rooms have a balcony, Deluxe rooms look onto the garden and Jharokha rooms have a jharokha balcony with a city view. Free WiFi, a lift to every floor, laundry, a travel desk and room service around the clock.

Pure vegetarian, and Jain food on request
The kitchen is 100% pure vegetarian — the whole kitchen, not a section of the menu — and there is no alcohol anywhere on the property. The restaurant runs 7:00 AM - 10:30 PM with dinner from 6:00 PM, and the air-conditioned dining hall seats 25 guests.

Where you park, and where your driver sleeps
Parking is free. It is outside parking, alongside the property, and there is no charge for it — not for a night, not for a week, not for the whole of your stay.
Your driver stays free too. Drivers stay in a dormitory with a separate toilet and bathroom, at no charge, for the whole of your stay. Driver meals are not included — that is the one part of it you pay for, and we would rather you knew that here than at the desk. Tell us when you book that a driver is travelling with you, and for how many nights.
